I wish EVERYDAY was vacation!

D: Hi guys! I just got back from something H called "vacation"... now, when she first told me we were going on "vacation" I thought she was going to take me to the doctor and I was going to get a ton of shots... since she said we were going for a week... so, I admit, I might have embarrassed myself with a bit of a tantrum... and perhaps a little running away and hiding.

Finally though H managed to find me and convince me "vacation" was something I wanted to do... and BOY WAS SHE RIGHT!

Here are a few snapshots:

Wow OH Wow! These were all for me!

Then I got to relax somewhere called the "beach"... and collect something called Petoskey stones... they don't look impressive when dry, but when they're wet they look like this:

and finally... I had a WHOLE WEEK of Gelato trips... mmmmmmm... coconut and chocolate almond = Almond Joy Gelato!!!

Yup, I think I might go on "vacation" next week too.

New Arrival

S: Hai!
D: Who the heck are you?!
S: I'm Summer! I live with you now!!
D: Why does everything you say sound like an exclamation?
S: Because!
D: ... well... ok kid, here's the ropes.
If you have any questions, ask Wise Old Mr. Panda.

S: Why are you so short, Mr. Panda?!
Panda: That is 'Wise OLD Mr. Panda' dear... and I am so short so as better to gain perspective on the world around me. From beneath one sees both the great height of expectation, and the expected fall from the height of greatness.
S: OK!
D: Uh... what?
Panda: One who asks, does not know. One who answers, suffers a fool.
D: Heeeey.....
S: Next!

D: Yeah, next... *backs away from Wise Old Mr. Panda* So, anyways, next we've got the minions. They're all the same, they can't even tell each other apart... so don't worry about that.
S: SO CUTE!
D: Yeah, they're pretty cute... but they'll latch on and never let go, so only use them if you are in dire need.
S: What's 'dire need'?
D: I think it's like, RIT dye and kool aid and stuff.
S: I like Kool Aid!
D: Me too.

S: Who are they?
D: No one, never speak of them again, and never look them directly in the eyes!

D: Do you think you've got it, kid?
S: Yup!
D: Good, stick with me and you'll be just fine.

Where did all the food go?

D: I tell ya, this trip was mondo disappointing. There was NO GOOD FOOD. Ok, there was food, fresh strawberries and raspberries, sandwiches and pizza, coffee and english muffins... but really, is any of that special? NO. We went to Mackinaw Island and there was NO FUDGE PURCHASED.

If you know anything about this island, it's all about the fudge (and something called 'road apples' but H. said we couldn't eat those)... yet, despite passing shop after shop of delicious fudgy creations... NONE WAS PURCHASED!

H. has failed me.

Anyways, despite life-altering disappointment, the boat ride over was fun... this is me sitting on my own spot on the bench... and the view out the window:

Then we had sandwiches on the lawn in front of the Fort, unfortunately, H's phone failed us again and you can't see anything outside the shady area.

Next we went on a bike ride and I was put atop this rather unstable looking rock structure... these little rock piles dotted the landscape along the beach and I'm *SURE* signify alien activity.
I insisted we knock them all down to save ourselves... but H. was having none of it. (Can you even see me up there?!)

We also climbed a bajillion stairs to see Arch Rock. It was a rock. That arched. Was it worth a bajillion stairs? No.

So, that was that. No fudge. A lot of exercise. *sigh*

Breakfast

D: Well, I can say that my photographs from my trip a few weekends ago were utterly disappointing. H's camera on her phone has NO depth of field. Really, I was expecting more.

One important shot I did get was this though, BREAKFAST! Every morning I woke up at 6 a.m. and got H. up too and we went down for a very full morning meal!

H: *grumble* 6 a.m. while I'm on vacation... *grumble*

D: Oh, quiet you, you loved it.

Just a quick note...

I am back from Acen... although it wasn't a very photo-productive trip for me, because H's phone camera is too slow for that.

On a quick sidenote... she gave me these to eat... THESE!

Does she think just because I'm a stuffed bear, I don't know these are made of plastic?

Honestly.

Important things to know before a long trip...

1. Where the snacks are:

2. That you have enough snacks to make it there, and back again!

3. NEVER allow for distractions. The world is full of mysteries and dangers untold. If you follow that sticky-bun trail blindly, you might just end up dessert!
