Where did all the food go?

D: I tell ya, this trip was mondo disappointing. There was NO GOOD FOOD. Ok, there was food, fresh strawberries and raspberries, sandwiches and pizza, coffee and english muffins... but really, is any of that special? NO. We went to Mackinaw Island and there was NO FUDGE PURCHASED.

If you know anything about this island, it's all about the fudge (and something called 'road apples' but H. said we couldn't eat those)... yet, despite passing shop after shop of delicious fudgy creations... NONE WAS PURCHASED!

H. has failed me.

Anyways, despite life-altering disappointment, the boat ride over was fun... this is me sitting on my own spot on the bench... and the view out the window:

Then we had sandwiches on the lawn in front of the Fort, unfortunately, H's phone failed us again and you can't see anything outside the shady area.

Next we went on a bike ride and I was put atop this rather unstable looking rock structure... these little rock piles dotted the landscape along the beach and I'm *SURE* signify alien activity.
I insisted we knock them all down to save ourselves... but H. was having none of it. (Can you even see me up there?!)

We also climbed a bajillion stairs to see Arch Rock. It was a rock. That arched. Was it worth a bajillion stairs? No.

So, that was that. No fudge. A lot of exercise. *sigh*

  1. Hi Dot,

You are such an adventurous little bear. And brave as well. Of course, you know why you always get the best seats in the house, right? You're just the right size. I doubt very many human could fit in some of the place you've been. I know it's difficult walking past a fudge place without a tiny little sample even, but your pudgy little tummy says that you'll be fine without it. I'm sure you live the royal life - all that traveling and sightseeing. Why I'm glad just to see where you've been. Congratulations on surviving the trek and I'll keep reading to see what's next on your agenda.

    Little hugs for you!

  2. Hehe, Love this blog!! too too cute!!!! Your mum is fantastic! Ah I would be upset about fudge too, I once spent $60 on fudge when we visited a town famous for fudge! Of course, just like you it seems, my eyes were bigger than my tummy :) Hope you get to eat something yummy and sweet soon! little kisses from Sarah

  3. WOW! No FUDGE! I didn't even think that was possible to do when visiting Mackinaw Island! (By the way, Mackinaw Island is one of my absolute favorite places in the world.)
    Heaps of Hugs,

  4. D: Thanks guys... I tell you, H is a real slave driver... on top of that, she's totally been neglecting me and my *very* necessary blog updates!
She's been muttering something about being in a wedding (not hers) and it eating all her time... but really... what kind of excuse is that?!
